About me
LIVE YOUR TRUTH CAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE IS A LIE |
Ola beautiful people, to know about me as a doula is to know about me as the woman, daughter and mother in heart that I am today.
So here I go… In my early twenties I studied to become a Social Worker. I thought this would suit me perfectly. Be kind and helping out others in need. Until one of my colleagues told me one day ‘I should grow myself an elephant skin, because I was too sensitive’. I nodded and said: ‘yes of course I will’ - but deep in my heart I knew I wouldn’t. Because that is just not me. There must be a way of being in service without losing myself, right? Then my sister gave birth to a beautiful boy in 2011. Even though I thought I knew what love was, that day I knew for sure. I worked at a daycare facility with the smallest children so my knowledge and experience with babies was wider then what my sister had experienced until then. I was invited into their home to take care of the newborn family. I felt at home in this service. This was me. I searched for occupations that came close to this feeling. It was then I read about the concept ‘doula’ and as soon as I was aware of what a doula does, I knew what I wanted to do. My belly knew it. I am a doula. Life happened and more years passed by. I served postpartum with the second child of my sister. I kept on doing different jobs where I felt alienated, I traveled, had amazing adventures and lived life to the fullest. In the meanwhile I became an aunt to several children, which fills my heart with pure joy and gives me a feeling of total abundance. During these ten years my deepest desire was still to become a doula. And I jumped, I followed my truth and only that. I stayed grounded and close to myself. I connected with some strong women and started my doula journey for real. So here I am, grounded, passionate about women in general and birth itself. Living my dream.. every day. |
